One Day

“One Day, I will leave this body and I will get a perfect one.”  This line is from the Aaron Shust song One Day.

I love this is song.  I would suggest that you take a minute to listen to this song.  This song makes me start to think about that One Day.  The day that I meet Jesus!  This has be very excited just thinking about what I will do when I see Jesus for the first time.   Will I even be able to speak?  If I can, what would I say or ask him?  Will I run up and hug him?  How exciting and awesome will it be to meet the Creator of all things and the one who died for me so that I could live in eternity with him!  Just the thought of that takes me breathe away.

The other part of that song that excites me is the thought of a perfect body!  What in the world is a perfect body?  I can’t even comprehend a perfect body and what it would feel like.  No aches and pains?  No sickness?  No flaws?  No FAT????

This “One Day” that is coming is so very exciting!  I just can’t wait! The only thing that worries me about this one day is that all the people I love might not be there.  I know that there are people in my life that I love and care about that wont be there because they don’t believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  Therefore, I have a job to do!  We all have a job to do!  We need to speak, act and live the way that Jesus wants us to and share His word with everyone.  Do you think that this is too big of a job for you?  Are you too shy?  No one said you had to preach a sermon to everyone you meet.  Sometimes the best way of witnessing to someone is to live your life as Jesus would want you to.

So with all this being said….Will you have this “One Day” where you get to meet Jesus?  If so, are there people around you that might not?  If its you, yourself, that will not have this “One Day” because you haven’t turned your life over to Jesus, the I encourage you to look inside your heart, realize that you are a sinful creature and that you NEED Jesus to wash away those sins, and then turn your life over to God and live the way He would want you to.  If its others around you that don’t know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, what can you do to help the realize that they NEED Jesus.

You can find this song on Arron Shust’s album “anything worth saying” It can be purchased at the following link

Selfishness and Redemption

I was recently talking with a friend who was feeling very discouraged about her many failings. As she spoke about her regrets and fears, I tried to help her to see how God has blessed her and how she is believing too many lies about herself. I wanted her to see the good in herself. Have you ever had this experience? I would imagine that you have? But as we spoke, I realized how wrong this was. Now, it is true that many of us are believing lies about who we are and God HAS blessed us in incredible ways.

But as we talked, I kept hearing “I”, “my life”, “me” and I realized that we are going about this in the wrong way.

We ARE sinful, we ARE full of regrets, and we ARE really no good – we are nothing. Can you really argue with that? God has said that our “righteousness are as filthy rags.”

Perhaps there in lies the problem, we are too selfish. Its not about MY dreams and desires, its about His! We are nothing, but for the Grace of God!!!! He has not just left us as lost, NO, He has REDEEMED us! Are you believing that today? Living that? We are nothing, we are sinful and unworthy, but God reaches down and pulls us up despite what we have done! He has given us life and purpose – IN HIM! Why not try to take our eyes off of ourselves and put them on Him, the One who saves!

Worthless vs Unworthy

Have you ever felt worthless? I must begin by saying that I most certainly have, and I would dare to assume that at some time, you have as well.

May I suggest that you are believing a lie? I believe that Satan, the Father of Lies has deceived many of us into believing that we are worthless. We constantly fail or feel that we have no purpose in life, and yet, have you stopped to consider that Satan wants you to believe that you are simply worthless. This pleases him, Satan wants you to believe that!

But! let me say, with great joy, that is a LIE! I believe that we have confused WORTHLESS with UNWORTHY.

The Bible says that we are sinners, can you really argue with that? no! we are sinners, but we are not worthless, we are truly unworthy. But it is by the grace of God that we have been redeemed! We have been freed and delivered by the power of the Cross!

I believe that there is an epidemic of depression and selfishness here. The world tells you to “chase your dreams,” “find your inner beauty!” “believe in yourself!”… the world tells us that is how to find joy!

John 3 says “He must increase and I must decrease…”

Mark 8 says “deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Him.”

Next time you feel worthless, stop and consider the truth. We are unworthy sinners saved by the Grace of God!

Find your life in the powerful Word of God!!

Helping Haiti from Home

Tonight, I was totally inspired by a Haiti relief fundraiser concert.  A local entertainer, Monte Leister, volunteered his time and talents to raise money for a group called Hope for Haiti (not to be confused with the widely televised concert last week) that is based in Westminster, Maryland and provides education support, agricultural support and other help to Haiti. Hope for Haiti is currently gearing up to provide additional relief focused to the earthquakes that have taken place over the last few weeks.

So I belive Monte spoke alot of truth when he said (paraphrased) “I am not called to foreign mission currently, God has called me here right now so what can we do to help Haiti from where God has called me.”(once again Paraphrased)  Monte Volunteered his time and was able to raise around $1,500 for Hope for Haiti.
So that leads me to ask how can I help? I also do not feel a call to foreign missions.   I also feel called to be right here now, however we can stand behind those who are. We can give prayer and financial support for those who are in the mission field. I would encourage each of you to prayerfully donate to an organization like Hope for Haiti that will be able to help out those who are affected by this natural disaster.

If you would like to donate to Hope for Haiti you can do so by going to the website http://www.hope-for-haiti.org   They accept Pay Pal donations online and it only takes a few minutes to make a world of difference. Don’t forget to also keep this organization in your prayers as the work in Haiti continues.

I also wanted to mention that as always Monte did a great job with this concert.  Everyone left the venue with a huge smile on their face.  If you would like more information on Monte Leister you can visit his site at http://www.musicwithmonte.com/

As always
